INTRUSION IN SEWER LINES...
Roots are one of the major
causes of blockages in the sewer line going from your house out to the main
sewer in the street. The roots seep out the moisture and nutrients inside
the pipe and find ways to get to it through holes, cracks or bad joints in the
pipes. Once they've found a way in, they will grow inside the pipe.
If left untreated they will cause blockages in your line and due to the
increased pressure the pipe may even break or collapse.
Depending on the severity of your root problem and the condition of your pipe it
may be necessary to cut the roots out 1-2 times a year. For lines with
severe roots it may be more cost effective and less damaging to your property to
have your pipe relined. For pipes with severe damage or separation
it may be necessary to excavate and replace the sewer line.
